Friday is “Take Your Dog To Work” Day! Before grabbing the leash and your work bag, here are a few tips to ensure both 4 paws and 2 legs are ready for the work environment:
- Double check with your firm and more specifically your manager that bringing your dog will be allowed.
- Consider your work environment before bringing your dog. Dogs aren’t suitable at a construction site nor at the hospital.
- Think about your co-workers, don’t insist that everyone say “hello” to your dog.
- Avoid the stink! Bring your dog to a self-service dog wash or make a grooming appointment prior to June 25th.
- Pack yummy treats, water bowl & water, along with the usual dog food so your dog won’t miss any meals while you’re working away.
- If you’re called away to a meeting, don’t leave your dog behind. Either have a trusted co-worker walk her or perhaps, sneak her into the meeting.
Here are some interesting stats on having a furry office mate (according to American Pet Products Manufacturers Association):
- Over 50 million dog lovers felt that having their dog at work with them increased their productivity, decreased stress, and increased work hours.
- Of those surveyed, 37 million stated their relationships with other co-workers would be more positive.
