Don’t Mess With My Pet Campaign: Pet Owner Rights

The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council has set up a “Don’t Mess With My Pet” campaign to educate pet owners about a potential legislation that would restrict their rights as pet owners.

Some highlights of this bill are as follows:

  • Numerous states proposed laws requiring ever pet owner to spay or neuter their pets

  • Over 30 proposals to limit number of pets you can own to two pets
  • Over a dozen states introduced 30 bills outlawing specific breeds (such as: Labrador Retrievers, Pugs, Pit bulls)
