Little Lily: Bringing High Fashion to the Canine Community

While the world of high fashion has been dominated by humans since Charles Frederick Worth pioneered haute couture–designer doggy wear has been making an entrance with the help of brands like Little Lily, founded by Hollywood residents Lara Alameddine and Daniel Dubiecki.

The idea for the brand was born when Alameddine’s family dog, a Yorkie named Lily, injured her paw while walking. Protective shoes could not be found for her that were both comfortable and stylish, and so the pair decided to customize boots for Lily. The project was such a success that Alameddine and Dubiecki decided to market their creation–an endeavor which eventually expanded into Little Lily.

Today the brand is sold in over 200 stores worldwide, and counts such celebrities as Britney SpearsEva Longoria and Selma Blair among its clients. Collaborative collections have also been designed with Paris Hilton and Japanese company Sanrio, creators of Hello Kitty. In addition, Little Lily has produced a red carpet collection, featuring clothing inspired by formal attire worn by actors at award shows. Alameddine and Dubiecki design what they call “people clothing for dogs,” with the intention of creating attire that appeals to both dogs and their owners, and every detail of the garments is meticulously attended to. The brand’s catalogue can be viewed at Little Lily and clothing can be purchased at various stores and online vendors, including Funny Fur.
