Several holidays will be celebrated by many dog owners across the country. From Halloween to Thanksgiving, and Christmas–here are a few tips to make certain your parties are fun for your friends and furry buddies:

• If guests are coming over for the holidays, make sure you dog can’t access the dining room table.
• Be sure the main door to your home is closed as some dogs may get frightened with the new visitors and bolt from home.
• Remind your guests that as tempting as it may be to sneak some turkey to your puppy, bones can be dangerous. Avoid feeding human food to your dog such as spices and other rich ingredients–it will upset their tummies.
• If the party gets too noise for your dog, by all means don’t force them to hang out. Have them play with their favorite toy and/or enjoy a peaceful nap in another room.

And don’t forget to give lots of praise and love to your pup after guests have left–it’s important during the holiday seasons to keep your dog safe, healthy and happy.

Love the constant “deer caught in headlights” look of pugs!

Great tips! It seems sad to exile the dog during these types of get-togethers, but a nice bone keeps them obliviously busy by themselves.

    2. Pugs are very awkwardly looking, and obviously it all depends on the individual dog’s personality.
