2 Dogs 2,000 Miles

With a few miles left to walk before arriving in Boston, join Luke Robinson and his walking buddies – Hudson & Murphy – this weekend to celebrate the conclusion of their long trek across 14 states to raise awareness of metastatic bone cancer in canines. In 2006 Luke’s dog Malcolm succumbed to cancer. His tragic loss led him to begin his 2,000 mile journey in Austin and head to Boston. The final mile event will be held at Kelleher Rose Garden Back Bay Fens on Saturday, June 19th (9:30 am – 11 am). Please join the memorial service and walk the last mile with Luke, Hudson & Murphy.

New Drug To Fight Canine Skin Cancer

The Food & Drug Administration announced today that it has approved a cancer drug (called Palladia) to fight skin tumors found in dogs. According to the US News & World Report, the drug will be manufactured by Pfizer and available to veterinarians in 2010. Dog owners will rejoice in this major breakthrough as this type of skin cancer can be deadly if not found early and treated aggressively.
