Taking a picture of your furry friend doesn’t have to be frustrating. Sure you want to capture her essence but she’s always moving and won’t sit still. Here are a few tips that will make photographing your dog a lot simpler.

- Pick a simple background! It’s helpful to take pictures outside during the daylight hours wiht the sun behind you. Try to work without the camera’s flash.

- Get help! Have a friend hold a treat out for your dog if you’re looking for that “portrait” look.

- Snap away! Digital cameras allow you to take many pictures without having to feel you wasted money on developing film. You’ll get instant feedback and will know how to correct for any errors.

- Stay low! A dog’s view of her surroundings is entirely different than ours. Aim to get onto their level (near the ground) for a better perspective.

Next time you take your dog for a walk, pack a camera and aim to hang out at a nearby park. You’ll get some fantastic pictures of your dog observing her environment without asking her to “Sit! Stay!”
